Kerry’s Boutique celebrating its tenth year

Today ( November 22 ), a Broadstairs clothing store that exclusively serves curvier women is commemorating its 10th anniversary.

After user Kerry Smith made the decision to end the “depressing knowledge” of trying to find contemporary clothes in dimensions above 14, Kerry’s Boutique opened in 2013.

Kerry, a Margate native, had really earned her teaching license, but claims that the challenges of finding good clothing led her to pursue her other fashion passion.

The 35-year-old stated:” As a scholar, I had worked at Evans ten years ago, and I qualified to teach.” Being an fat girl myself, I had trouble locating good, contemporary clothing. If you’re an 18-year-old like me, it was a miserable experience to go shopping because everyone stopped at length 14.

” I could discover there was a difference in the market for people who are plumper because attire was my love.

With the assistance of her kids, Kerry set up the store at 54 High Street, Broadstairs. Kerry’s mother ran a shore café in Ramsgate, and her father recently ran newsagent businesses with her father.

After the first five decades, the company was so prosperous that Kerry decided to build a following “floor” where Crofts Place parking is located.

None of the items in the store are mass-produced, and it only sells measurements 14 to 32.

Kerry, a former student at Ursuline College, stated:” We do not buy anything solid produced.” Curvier women may all end up with the same thing in larger businesses. There are two or three items in this design. We import goods from all over the world, including some American businesses, the Netherlands, Australia, and America. We now have some of Arcadia’s Evans sections, but they are less expensive than you would have paid for them.

” We cater for different expenses with things starting at £12 or going up to £35 for higher end products, and we target different age with shiny Christmas items for younger women and more traditional products for older women.”

Kerry claims that despite the shutdown that the pandemic forced on so many businesses and that many of the customers are devoted regulars, the business is still doing well.

She continued,” I was astounded by a woman who traveled five hours by car from the other side of Bognor Regis just to visit my purchase. She claimed she had never seen a store like it but kept the distance from her partner.

Kerry claims that in order to ensure that customers purchase items that are truly appropriate for them, her store ensures both kindness and integrity. She remarked,” I think we can do better if someone says what you think and I do n’t think it’s nice.” I go out of my way to find something that will seem good because the wrong technology, not the body, is what is terrible.
