After a beautiful dress rehearsal, everything ready for the Paris 2024 Games light service.

April 15, 2024

In a dress rehearsal in old Olympia on Monday ahead of Tuesday’s formal meeting that will indicate the Games ‘ final stretch, the sun’s rays lit the flame for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

In the final rehearsal for Tuesday’s traditional ceremony in ancient Greece, a Greek artist playing the high goddess sparked the flame with a conical mirror and the sun’s rays.

A light circuit will be held in Greece and France starting on July 26 in Paris, where the Games will begin.

The flame will be lit on Tuesday in front of the Greek president of the republic, the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, and the leadership of the International Olympic Committee ( IOC). It will be a pleasant surprise with the warm temperatures and generally sunny skies.

The fire lit during the dress rehearsal serves as a backup when the skies block the mirror’s ability to gentle the light.
