With Two Pop-ups in Southern California, Vici Women’s Brand is Testing the Market.

November 23, 2023

VICI, a women’s clothing company from northern California known for offering fashionable clothing at reasonable prices generally online, is launching two new pop-up stores in chic Southern California locations.

On well-known Abbot Kinney Boulevard, the shopping hotspot in Venice where other California businesses Aviator Nation, Faherty, The Great, and Everlane even have troops, VICI unveiled a 640 square feet business that will be available for one month in October.

The company unveiled a 1,800 square feet pop-up on Wednesday that will be available for six weeks in Newport Beach, California’s premium Fashion Island shopping centre.

The company’s chief executive officer, Lindsay Shumlas, stated that” we are seeing the opportunity to meet our clients where they are and more develop upon the Origen society we have now established.” ” Our cultural and influencer society has always been the driving force behind our business.”

VICI has had one continuous location in Nashville since 2019. The company has prospered thanks to the sizable 3, 000 flat feet area. Shumlas stated,” We firmly believe in the in-person buying experience, and to further explain what the product is all about.”

The Fashion Island business resembles a stylist’s bedroom with contemporary information, and its neighbors include large department stores like Macys, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdale. Wooden furniture, greenery, and glossy couches are used to add a touch of warmth to smooth concrete floors with stone accents. For a sense that is unadorned, there is modern lighting and tidy spaces.

The company specializes in selling fashionable clothing and accessories at reasonable prices, such as jewel headbands, silver cowboy boots, sequin flared pants, and plaid miniskirts. The majority of the company’s products, with an average price point of$ 50, are produced in Asia, including China. Some knitting manufacturing, including knit gowns, which have been a hit with the company, is done in Los Angeles.

In Walnut Creek, a home area 25 miles north of San Francisco, Sandra Sayegh Dudum and her daughter, Aimee, founded VICI in 2012. After earning a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in L.A. in 1984, Sandra began working in the fashion industry at Nordstrom and GlamBomb, where she eventually rose to the position of CEO.

Years ago, the two owners opened a VICI business in Walnut Creek as part of their business strategy, expanding the brand to contain apparel, accessories, and shoes. That shop was shut down. A business once existed in Corona del Mar, a community close to Newport Beach, but it was shut down during the COVID- 19 crisis.

VICI was sold to San Francisco-based TSG Consumer Partners in 2019, a private equity firm that focuses primarily on growth-capital investments in client companies. TSG has collaborated with businesses like Planet Fitness, Paige, and Revolve.

Aimee continued to serve as the main company and style officer following the acquisition, and Sandra recently resigned from her position as board chair.

Shumlas took over as CEO of VICI in 2022 from Manhattan Beachwear, one of the largest clothing companies in the nation. She commutes to northern California and runs from Newport Beach. VICI established a 12, 000 square feet pattern studio earlier this year in Los Angeles’ Arts District, where the company’s photography, merchandise, and design are carried out.

Regular product drops, whether made online or in person, have been essential to VICI sales because they cater to the current young woman who must balance her function, family, and personal life. She enjoys the style advice provided to put together outfits and is typically in her 30s, according to Shumlas.

As VICI considers opening more pop-up shops to analyze the market, customers will have more possibilities to do some in-person purchasing there next time.
