After the immediate shutdown of a bridal shop, a bride-to-be claimed to have “broke down in tears” to her lender when she learned she had lost nearly £1,500 on her bridal dress.
Kelly Lee, 39, was one of several people who say they have been left out of bag after learning La Belle Boutique in Huthwaite Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, had closed.
Consumers claimed they had received letters from the store claiming it was no longer operating, and that they were now concerned about not getting the outfit they wanted for their big time.
According to a spokesperson for Powerful Anderson, an debt practice, La Belle Boutique had given the company instructions to liquidate it.
Ms Lee, from Sutton-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, said she was expected to get married in October but had then lost out on her “dream clothing”.
She claimed that the factory sent her an internet on Sunday at around 02:30 BST.
” For the last couple of days I’ve no slept”, said Ms Lee. When I read the message, I slammed my phone down and cried.
” I was really upset and crying to the lender, who told me they could n’t help me because I’d paid by banks exchange.”
Allie Gallon, 30, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, said she had been attempting to find a substitute dress online, with her wedding 10 weeks ahead.
” It’s made me feel horrific,” she said”. It’s supposed to be one of your best career experience.
” Being so enthusiastic about everything, including getting married to your lover,” is what you’re going to do. But it’s so near, and I’m now going through the planning phases once more.
I had to tell my partner that I might not be wearing a suitable marriage outfit, which is unfortunate because that is what you want to wear on your big time.
Definitely devastated, in my opinion.
Another bride to be, Charlotte Bradley, 35, from South Normanton in Derbyshire, said she paid for her clothing in February back of her ceremony in September.
Nine months before her wedding day, she claimed to have been left with$ 1, 600 out of pocket.
Ms. Bradley stated,” I received an email stating that the store was shut down with immediate influence.
” I was absolutely devastated. I’ve got nine days left- to get another clothing, I’ve got to pay once”.
La Belle Boutique sent an email to customers that the BBC saw that said those who used a credit card may obtain a compensation from their company.
Stock moved
Solid Anderson stated in a speech that Strong Anderson said:” On Sunday, the chairman of La Belle Bridal Boutique Limited announced that its doors had closed and was instructing debts attorneys to put the company into voluntary bankruptcy.
The firm has now given Solid Anderson, a licensed insolvency practice, the task of placing the company in voluntary liquidation.
” Powerful Anderson understands that the proposed business bankruptcy is a challenging time for customers.”
We are already gathering as much information as we can to report to lenders, but we are unsure at this time how many brides are impacted or the company’s financial situation.
The company also confirmed the factory had closed and property had been moved” to the next trading /outlet grounds”.
Celia Kellet and Ash Geaney did more investigating.
