February 8, 2024

Edward Enninful’s legacy may be characterized by his valiant and forward-thinking leadership as he bids farewell to his position as editor-in-chief of American Vogue.

He has demonstrated to us that fashion is more than just clothes; it is a potent tool for social change, embracing variety to foster an equitable and motivating world.

When I first met Edward, I was a fresh model navigating the busy streets of London and he was an budding artist. We quickly developed a strong connection.

Perhaps then, his extraordinary vision and creative power were clear. Edward listens, absorbs information, and finds ideas in every aspect of life, igniting a passion that burns his soul that is his mission to revolutionize fashion.

His path is paved with a rebel, brave, and cooperative spirit that defines him rather than the need for status or headings.

When he was 18 years old and the youngest director at a prestigious global fashion magazine, i-D, his rapid rise started.

He reinvented W Magazine in the US and worked on the ground-breaking” Black Issue” at Vogue Italia before assuming the position of editor-in-chief of the English magazine.

He has long overdue changed the way the fashion industry thinks and operates in this function. He revealed the hidden from his very first American Magazine protect until his last.

His classic covers honor diversity by highlighting people of all ages, socioeconomic backgrounds, and skill levels.

Edward’s revolutionary soft power goes beyond the pages as he created a cultural” artistic vision group” for British Vogue that included new voices from up-and-coming photographers, stylists, writers, millennials who were street-savvy, creative designers, and cultural icons.

The respect Edward has earned from me and many others is what distinguishes him. His keen imagination and dedication to our goals are uncommon in our field. When he asked to feature me with my newborn on the cover of British Vogue, I did n’t think twice to say yes.

There is no one else I may have done that for, and nobody else has existed since.

Similar to this, 40 of the most powerful women in the world were brought up by Edward’s sincere reasoning for a stunning goodbyes cover shoot.

I have the utmost regard for Edward’s choice to leave.

I understood his schedule when he shared it with me because I am familiar with Edward. He sincerely cares about the future of our industry, is acutely aware that we must open the door for creative talent, and is constantly driven to greatness.

What will be Edward’s future big issue, then? I’m unsure. He always says,” You’ll just have to rush and see,” with a contagious smiles.
