Lily Cossio, a sophomore at the Academy of the Holy Angels, has made game day dreams come true for some women in her neighborhood.
Lily organized a Prom Dress Drive to collect 162 carefully used elegant clothes for women to choose from, free of charge, knowing that some people may find the cost of homecoming dresses to be a hindrance.
Lily, who is a native of Tenafly, incorporated both her desire to give back to her community and her Caribbean heritage to make a major impact.
She has been a volunteer for the Academy’s Campus Ministry and the non-profit firm NACAW, which is based in Union City. She has also been a volunteer for the Academy’s Campus Ministry.
This program was a part of the Academy’s International Week, a diversity party that supports Lily’s goal of making prom available to all.
In response to similar initiatives in Bergen County, Lily was determined to bring this pleasure to Union City High School, a place that was close to her brain.
” Union City has a very attractive Caribbean society, and being that I am half Caribbean, and many of my family members and friends live in Union City, I’d like to help Union City High School”, Lily shared.
The drive was a primary for Lily, who expertly used social media and nearby stores while gathering points for an impressive selection of dresses.
Her work were supported by the AHA area and extended to Tenafly, Hoboken, and beyond, with a Port real estate agency assisting in marketing and variety.
Lily credits her work with AHA’s DECA plan with giving her the essential skills for such a strong travel.
DECA, an global business aimed at preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs, taught her promotion, advertising, and relationship- tower, all of which were critical to the success of her job.
Numerous Union City High School students will now have the opportunity to choose their ideal prom dress, making it a night to remember thanks to Lily’s program.
This account is not just about clothes, it’s a testament to the power of group, the soul of giving, and the extraordinary effects one person can have on the lives of many.
