Stephenson’s of Elkhart announces monthly Prom Dress Drive to support local kids

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – It’s flower- cleaning period. The time is now to go through the closet and get rid of all the clothes you do n’t need, and possibly even some dresses. And you need to assist one Elkhart neighborhood store.

A graduation dress travel is being organized by Stephenson’s of Elkhart in partnership with Lifeline Ministries.

” We believe that everyone should be able to attend homecoming. Not everyone has the same resources and/or is able to obtain what they want, but they should at least have the option. We simply want to make prom a little more available for everyone. We’re hoping through our drive people may bring in lovely, softly used prom dresses, ones that have been loved earlier and they’ll have the opportunity to be loved by a fresh person”, Stephenson’s employee Lily Reynolds- Miller said.

How’s how it works: all you have to do is bring in a clear, carefully used clothing to Stephenson’s shop.

From it, the business will make sure the clothes are in good condition, making any modifications. The dresses will then be given to qualified students on Lifeline.

Donors may obtain a discount in exchange for their donations at the store.

” We’re encouraging folks to sweep their closets. Cleaning season is upon us. We believe this is the ideal time to go through and perhaps seize some of those outfits that have been stowed away for a while, Reynolds Miller said.

The store is asking for official dresses, there is no size requirement. Whether it’s a full-length ball gown or a reunion dress, they simply request that it be in good condition.

Miller says she hopes this graduation travel will help ease some of the financial strains by turning students into princesses on the evening of the big night.

Some of those clothes would like to sparkle once more. We can all know and practice this, in my opinion. We have these items in our closets that say,” I do n’t know what to do with this.” We believe this is a great opportunity to give those dresses a new home and give them another chance if you already have those dresses and you know you wo n’t wear them again,” Reynolds Miller said.

The travel will continue through March 30th.
