Sean” Diddy” Combs, a R&B singer from New York, was charged in court on Thursday with subjecting Cassie to an extended relationship that included beatings and rape.
In the lawsuit brought against the manufacturer and music tycoon in New York federal judge, Cassie, whose legal name is Casandra Ventura, claimed that Combs “introduced her into his “ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled life” not long after she met him and signed to his tag when she was 19 and he was 37 in 2005.
Combs “vehemently denies” the accusations, according to counsel Ben Brafman.
Ventura, who is now 37 years old, claimed that Combs, 54, started abusing her as soon as their marriage did.
According to the lawsuit, he “prone to excessive rage” and subjected her to” violent” beatings in which she was punched, kicked, and stomped. It claims that while masturbating and filming other men, he drugged her and made her own sex with them.
According to the lawsuit, Combs raped her while she was attempting to end the marriage in 2018 in her Los Angeles home.
Ventura stated in a speech,” After years of silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my tale and to speak up on behalf of myself and for the benefit of other women who experience violence and abuse in their connections.”
Unless they formally confess, as Ventura has, The Associated Press typically does not name people who claim to have been sexually abused.
Brafman referred to the accusations as “lies.”
Under the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship, which was categorically rejected as blatant blackmail, Mr. Combs has been subjected to Ms. Ventura’s persistent demand of$ 30 million for the past six months. ” Despite withdrawing her first risk, Ms. Ventura has then turned to filing a petition rife with absurd and false lies, aiming to damage Mr. Combs’s status and demanding payment.”
Douglas Wigdor, Ventura’s attorney, retorted that Combs had “offered her eight characters to silence her and stop her from filing this petition.” She disregarded his work and made the decision to speak up for all women who suffer in solitude.
Among the most significant hip-hop suppliers and managers of the last three decades is Combs.
He and Ventura started dating in 2007 and dated intermittently for over ten years.
She gained notoriety for the Ryan Leslie-produced reach song” Me & U,” which won the No. In 2006, it occupied the top place on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip- Fly song table. The music served as the title track for her sole studio record, which was self-titled.
She has acted in a number of television and movie projects, including Fox’s” Empire,”” Step Up 2: The Roads,” and” Spenser Confidential.”
Combs established one of hip-hop’s largest empires, blazing a path with numerous companies associated with his well-known title. He is the creator of Bad Boy Records and a three-time Grammy victor who has collaborated with numerous top-tier musicians, including Faith Evans, Notorious B. I. G., Mary J. Blige, Usher, Lil Kim, and 112.
The tycoon produced the real series” Making the Band” for MTV, launched the Revolt Television route with a music emphasis, and founded the fashion clothing collection Sean John.
He released his fifth studio album this time,” The Love Album: Off the Grid,” which this month received two Grammy nominations.
The complaint uses a discourse Combs gave thanking Ventura for “holding me down in the dark times, like” at the BET Awards in 2022, when he was awarded career success honors.
The lawsuit claims that Cassie, Ms. Casandra Ventura, was restrained by Mr. Combs and subjected to his aggressive behavior and unreasonable expectations for more than ten years.
