Gurgaon: On Monday, the city’s health ministry issued a cold wave expert, advising residents to limit their journey, dress in layers of wool, and assess for frostbite as the least temperature dropped below 5 degrees Celsius.
All healthcare facilities, public and private, were urged to exercise caution and take the necessary precautions for cold wave people.
The advice discusses what people should do before leaving their homes in the morning, how to get ready for a warm day, and what to do and not do in such weather conditions.
People are advised to listen to the radio, watch TV, or read newspapers for local temperature forecasts before going to work in order to know if a cold morning is expected. It is also recommended to store enough winter clothes.
” Look after elderly people and kids, and keep an eye on neighbors who live alone.” Burning coal inside to create heat is not a good idea because it can create the poisonous carbon monoxide. When exposed to cold waves, be on the lookout for signs of hypothermia, such as numbness, a white or pale appearance on your fingers, toes, ears, and the tip of your nose, advised Dr. Virender Yadav, Gurgaon’s chief medical officer.
