Ken Walker, a local Detroiter and fashion designer, will visit Italy to promote his future line of clothing.
The K. Walker Collective will participate in an interactive booth experience at Pitti Immagine Uomo, a global event showcasing men’s fashion, on January 9–12 in Florence, Italy, with the help of the fashion collective Detroitissimi and funding from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation ( MEDC ).

The K. Walker Collective was founded in 2018 and specializes in necessary clothing and accessories made specifically for fashion icons and change-makers.
According to a Detroit School of Arts student, the area has always been known for its fashion, and it is now time to export Detroit’s aesthetic to other countries.
” I do believe that Detroit has always been a vogue trailblazer. Walker stated on CultureShift,” We just do n’t have the recognition for it. ” So it has been amazing from every perspective to be a part of that.”
Walker became the first personal label company in Midtown Detroit’s Cass Corridor when he opened his flagship store in 2022.
Walker teaches at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit as well. He thinks it’s crucial for Detroiters, especially young people, to understand that having a product and the location where it is housed is possible.
Walker remarked,” You have a company right down the street from the school to have kids look at me like this professor.” Therefore, for me, it’s demonstrating to them that it is feasible, reachable, and that you may accomplish it here in Detroit.
