The attractive nature of equality and self-expression is at the heart of Stuzo Clothing in the buzzing streets of New York City. Stuzo, a temple where all people find relief from criticism and labels, was founded by the creative Stoney Michelli Love and has grown from nothing to become more than just a fashion brand. And with the end of Women’s History Month approaching, it turns out that honoring the pioneering women who came earlier and creating gender-free clothing go hand in hand.

Stuzo Clothing embraces the idea of gender-free clothes, or as Stoney tenderly puts it,” clothes without tissues,” with the aim of challenging cultural norms. In a recent interview, Stoney shared insights into the creation of Stuzo:” In 2008, during my last year of graphic pattern studies in the Bronx, I faced bigotry, prejudice, and discrimination, which became a source of ideas”.
The development of Stuzo, a product that promotes diversification and authenticity, was the result of Stoney’s own experiences with prejudice. ” My shopping experiences were divided by gendered sections, creating a sense of exclusion”, she recalls. ” Shopping in areas lacking a middle ground was frustrating”.

At the core of Stuzo’s theory lies an edible creative process, reflecting Stoney’s devotion to sincerity and flexibility. ” My creative approach is natural. It comes to me”, she explains. ” I allow myself to be inspired by anyone and everything”.
Stoney arts styles that resonate with the strong and non-conformist, drawing inspiration from sources as varied as nobility and real TV. ” I let things talk to me and things inspire me, and I live my life”, she adds.
Yet, Stuzo’s journey has n’t been without its challenges. Stoney recalls the time when, following a period of self-reflection, she redefined the product as gender-free. ” I had to take a step back and check in with myself”, she stocks. ” After this discovery, Stuzo became a gender- completely business once”.

Stoney acknowledges the transformational power of accepting one’s reality as they navigate personal and professional growth. ” There’s a lot of moving, learning, relearning, and regaining strength”, she affirms. I’m thankful for that because I was able to return to my wisdom and beliefs, but I ended up being a better businessperson.
As Women’s History Month unfolds, Stoney reflects on its value for Stuzo and herself:” It’s celebrating the adult individuals that came before us, and fought for our equal privileges. It’s just being themselves and honoring those who are with us in the now that continue the fight and fighting. And it’s about honoring the young people who will be the people who will change the course of humanity.
