The Japan Apparel and Fashion Industry Council orchestrated its inaugural exhibition of exclusively Japanese-made garments in Paris in order to spotlight top-tier Japanese clothing on the global stage.

Keeping with Men’s Fashion Week in the French capital, the exhibition showcased apparel meticulously crafted in council-approved domestic factories—covering every step, from fabric production and dyeing to stitching.

Despite the market challenges faced by domestically produced items due to cheaper imports, the council’s objective is to broaden sales avenues by highlighting the exceptional quality of these garments. Each showcased piece bears the esteemed “J Quality” label, attesting to its origin in Japan through an integrated production system.

Over 60 men’s clothing items were on display, featuring impeccably tailored jackets adorned with hand-stitched detailing and intricately designed knitwear. The organizers reported a surge in inquiries, with an Italian department store expressing interest in establishing a temporary boutique for these garments.
