How a fresh walk-in wardrobe is assisting parents in Nueces County with child support

Pieces of the Nueces County Courthouse have been gradually being built in CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas.

” The judge was a design area when I first took control of it. Therefore, everything you can see right now was just building supplies, according to Courtroom 4D Judge Chris Waller.

Judge Waller was appointed to get over the 4D Court in January by Judge Missy Medary, the Fifth Administration Region Presiding Judge.

” The people you see in this jury are people who are looking for child support and to look after their kids.” Therefore, Medary, the 347th District Court Judge, said,” We’ve tried to make it a little bit more inviting and cozy for them.”

Waller entered the court with some suggestions for enhancing the atmosphere.

I’m extremely proud of his program and the approach he’s handling the court, Medary remarked.

Waller and his team have been cleaning and adorning the courthouse for the past few months, paying particular attention to some patriotic wall art. One is the Wall of Honor, which displays images of Nueces County veterans of the armed forces.

A chair lift behind Judge Waller’s chair was another improvement that was made to make the courtroom compliant with the Americans with Impairment Act.

Another practical improvement was the addition of a closet full of work and interview attire. Medary claimed that this concept had been in the works for a while, but obstacles would often present themselves. When Judge Waller entered, he devised a plan to make it work.

As part of the NCP Choices Program, the magistrates hope to assist non-custodial families in finding employment.

Hey, you need to get a job and give your child help, Judge Waller says. And many of those people lacked the necessary clothing to be able to enter the community and find employment, according to Medary.

Almost everything a person would need for an appointment is available in the bedroom. A variety of shoes, trousers suit, dress shirts, ties, belts, trousers, and suit jackets are available.

According to Waller,” The NCP Choices software also provides steel-toed boots and things like that for construction staff, so they can go get the job and not have a problem with having to buy these cheap things.”

The bedroom was constructed by Judge Waller and his team using their own time and resources. The judges ‘ uniforms were then added to the bedroom by the staff and other courts.

” The law gives me the authority to imprison persons for failing to pay child support. People do n’t have to worry about that happening because we’ve had a high success rate of them actually getting jobs and being compliant now, according to Waller.

” Wash clothing so that someone can go looking for work, land a job, and be able to keep it.” Therefore, they are free to maintain their house, their home, and everything else, but they can even pay their child support because our children require it, according to Medary. ” And continue to see their kids.”

People who use the bedroom can also keep the clothes they take.

The courts are requesting any and all donation assistance. If you want to contribute, all you have to do is show up at the Nueces County Courthouse dressed appropriately for an interview. There should be a hanger or other object to drop the clothes from.

Donors should inform security that they are dropping out clothes for Courtroom 4D when they arrive at the courthouse. Security will handle the situation.
