Fort Madison ( WGEM)- The SDA community service facility in Fort Madison will once again provide free prom dresses and jewelry for local teens.
Students will have six times to choose a gown at the community service center.
Numerous carefully used clothes and shoes have been given by the public.
Rich Barlow, the community support center’s associate director, claimed the organization has been operating this system for the past four years.
We thought it would be a great idea to coordinate this and let the people, especially the girls, know that these things are affordable and do n’t need to spend$ 200 or$ 300 on prom. You know, they can generally get it for free”, said Barlow.
Any young girl in the tri-state area is encouraged to wear a dress, according to Barlow. He claimed that after use, they request that clothes and footwear be returned.
The “dress shop” is set up at 927 Avenue G ( next to Aldi ) on the following dates:
- April 10, 1- 6 p. m.
- April 13 10 a. m. – lunchtime
- April 15 4- 6 p. m.
- April 16 4- 6 p. m.
- April 21 1- 4 p. m.
- April 24 1- 6 p. m.
