Following a complaint from Aakash Sharma, who was authorized by Netrika Consulting India Private Limited to look into copyright, trademark, and invention violations, the attack at” Brand Mandi” was carried out.

The plaintiff claimed that his business conducted surveys of locations and stores that he thought were engaged in illegal reproduction, investing, trading, and selling of counterfeit goods.

He claimed that customers who purchased these goods were misled into thinking they were purchasing authentic goods and were therefore being duped. They discovered the store at” Brand Mandi,” prominently displaying trademarks of different brands, and also using color combinations and printing techniques, which were their unique artistic creations.

Authorities teams searched the store and discovered the supplier offering fraudulent Levi Strauss & Co and Calvin Klein in response to the problem.

Unidentified accused were named in a case brought under Sections 420 ( cheating ) and 51 ( a ) and 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957, Sections 103 ( penalty for applying false trade marks or false trade descriptions, etc. ), and 104 ( penalty for selling goods or providing services to which false trade marks or false trade descriptions are applied ) and 420 ( cheating ) of the Indian Penal Code.
