The shoegaze traditional comeback album Delaware has been reissued by Drop Nineteens, and they have also shared two new songs, including a include of”.
” I was obviously later to Lana”, says the singer’s Greg Ackell. However, I decided to bring this track to the band because it got me and it just wo n’t let go. The group started running through what I had in mind together and the band started to lock in on it after I suggested covering Lana Del Rey’s” White Dress,” but they looked at me a small side when I suggested doing it. They’ve generally turned” White Dress” into a Drop Nineteens music, and you can listen to that now.
The reprint of Delaware, its first since the original 1992 transfer, has been remastered, and it also features altered include art, replacing the weapon in the woman’s hand with plants. A part of the album’s profits will benefit. In today’s climate, the band stated in a statement that” we decided to change the cover image, not so much as self-correct,” but because” we simply wo n’t put the image of a young person with a gun in their hand out there.” ” To be honest, the idea was definitely overstated yet in 1992,” she said. We are thrilled with the new style of the Delaware renew, and we are honored to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale to the organization Designer For Action To Prevent Gun Violence. You can check out the cover art above and download the reissue from Wharf Cat on June 21.
The other new track they’ve released now is” Nest”, a Drop Nineteens original that was initially set for the band’s 2023 return record. Ackell notes that” Nest was actually going to be both our album’s opening or closing” We were unable to locate it on the recording when we realized we had a better opening and closer. It’s an accurate closer as B- side to White Dress, because it’s the the next song Drop Nineteens will be releasing for a while, or maybe actually, because you know, you not know…The ruminative lyrics make it well suited for this position”. Listen to that below.
