Thanks to the Dallas Public Library, local high school students can feel like they are a million dollars at graduation for free.
The annual graduation use raffle, which gives students the chance to get something to use to the big event for free, is running its 10th year; all of the clothing was donated by the public.
” The youth, they definitely love the bedroom. When a young discovers their ideal prom dress, Latari Prater, with the Dallas Public Library, says, “you see smile on their face, and they’re all thrilled to have perfect outfit for homecoming.” The chance to enter and receive a free prom dress, suit, or match is magnificent, according to the statement” as you know, homecoming can be very expensive.
The Fairy Tale Closet at the library will have thousands of dresses in a variety of sizes and styles available in addition to sneakers, accessories, a dozen suits and jackets for the guys, and for those who prefer not to wear a classic dress.
The Dallas Public Library and Project Beauty, a non-profit organization, teamed up this year to collect hundreds of clothes and provide hair and makeup advice for the Saturday activities.
The J. Erik Jonsson Central Library will have The Fairy Tale Closet available on the following time:
- Thursday, March 14 from 11 a. m. to 2 p. m.
- Saturday, March 16 from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m.
Walk-ins are pleasant, but it’s advised that doubts been made in advance through the Fairy Tale Closet. The Fairy Tale Closet is first come, first served, and is open to all.
Kids, ladies, and no- linear students are welcome to visit the Fairy Tale Closet. There are fitted areas and dozens of volunteers, or ‘ magical godparents,’ to assist with the clothes choice.
Donations are accepted at all Dallas Public Library sites year round, and The Fairy Tale Closet was established in 2014 and is restocked annually with funds from dozens of individuals and organizations.
