The event, hosted in partnership with the council’s
Strategic Waste Team, the Mall, Food First Luton, and Lutonkind-Kids occur between 11 am and 3 pm at Unit 55, the Mall (next to Tesco). Anyone
wishing to attend can drop off items between 4 and 14 December
to be inspected, sorted, and categorized before the day. Categories
will include adult and evening partywear, baby and children’s partywear,
festive tops, jumpers, and accessories.
People are asked to bring up to five items of good quality
and clean clothes and will be issued with tickets that will indicate the
type of item they’ll be able to swap with. Donations are also accepted for
those not wishing to change anything.
Swishing, or clothes-swapping, is a great way to save costs this Christmas, shop ethically, and save money. Keeping clothing, shoes, and accessories in life for longer makes a big difference to the environment and enables people to improve their wardrobe simultaneously. With many different clothes on offer, these events are always a lot of fun, as you never quite know what you’ll come away with.
Drop off your unwanted items at Unit 55 next to Tesco on any of the following dates and times:
- 4 December, 10 am to 12:30 pm
- 5 December, 2 pm to 4 pm
