An American wife executed a stunning style wonder on her wedding time!
A Sydney-based designer who specializes in custom apparel spent months discreetly creating her own wedding dress. She therefore surprised the man, her bridesmaids and all of her guests with” a remarkable reveal” of her one- of- a- type look at her ceremony.
” I loved having the aspect of surprise”, she tells Citizens of her secret clothing project. I “always wanted to keep it a key and show it to all of my friends and family.”
In the video Fernandez shared on, she captured the amazement of her five bridesmaids when they first saw her gown at her Sydney ceremony in October 2023. The picture has since gone popular, garnering more than 640, 000 wants.
” Their responses were really incredible”, she recalls. ” It made me feel so glad and really emotional”!
As for the wedding, Fernandez says, he” fully bawled his eye out” as he watched her walk down the aisle. She says,” It was very beautiful and leaves a huge smile on my face even as I retell the time.”
Fernandez claims her Syrian heritage gave her the inspiration to create her own clothing and hold a surprise show.
” In my lifestyle, I grew up with marriages being such a huge time of your life, a coalition that is incredibly celebrated in my household. I was a young child who would always get so excited when a bride was unveiled in her gown. To me this was the most beautiful excitement, being that I love trend”, she explains.
She claims that she was immediately considering purchasing a dress because she was concerned that creating her personal would be too laborious, but she was turned off by the “really awful knowledge” at the bridal store she went to.
She recalls that the person fitting me did not make the encounter feeling exclusive at all, and I actually walked out with tears in my eye because I had never been made to feel so insecure. However, it did me a favour and supported my decision to create my own bridal gown.
She actually raised the bar by choosing to host her welcome in a second Great Gatsby-themed dress.

Fernandez spent “many late nights” creating the patterns for the two dresses before beginning the design process. To ensure the right fit and design, she created a number of” toiles,” or “test versions” of the dresses in less expensive fabrics.
” Everything was done entirely myself — designed, pattern made and sewed”, she tells PEOPLE, while a behind- the- scenes of the process can be seen in she shared on TikTok.
Her ceremony dress featured a halter- neck, drop- waist silhouette and layers of champagne and ivory tulle ruffles, creating a dramatic, 16- foot train with 27 tiers.
” With every step, it almost looked like a floating cloud. It was extravagant and whimsical”, Fernandez says of the design. ” I’ve always wanted a dress that was completely a reflection of my personality and my personality,” the statement continued. It had to push the boundaries.
A French lace corset bodice with beading and 3D flowers, a beaded belt, fully beaded lace sleeves, and a heart-shaped lower back cutout were also included in the outfit. She notes the cutout,” I wanted that extra element of surprise for the guests as I walked down the aisle.”
Fernandez describes her dress-making project as having “many highs and lows,” but she is incredibly proud of herself for pulling it off. ” It made]my wedding experience ] so personal”, she adds of wearing her own original design.
Thanks to the project, she’s also found a new niche as a designer.
” I received a lot of positive feedback and interest from other people ] about my wedding dress.” That’s why I’ve decided to launch my brand,, to make custom wedding gowns for other women, and create an enjoyable and beautiful experience for them”, she shares.
