According to the BBC, clothing manufactured in South Asia has been mislabeled as” Made in the UK” by retailer Boohoo.

Between January and October of last year, the firm’s contentious factory in Thurmaston Lane in Leicester removed the original labeling from T-shirts and hoodies, according to a Panorama analysis.

This was an isolated event, according to a Boohoo official, and it affected less than 1 % of the team’s global clothing eating.

” We have taken steps to ensure that this does not arise again. These problems were found to be the result of human problem.

Boohoo is thinking about shutting down its shop in Leicester and moving its functions.

Less than 100 workers at the Thurmaston Lane stock may be impacted by the shutdown, and” some roles will be relocated,” according to the company.

The clothing retailer stated that the plans to close the location are unrelated to the Panorama investigation’s findings and added that it must take action to make sure its business is “more efficient, effective, and strengthened” as a result of” major investments” at its Sheffield and US distribution centers.

According to a Panorama investigation conducted in November of last year, employees of the company discovered that the Leicester shop of Boohoo Group had been subcontracting orders to Morocco and that suppliers were still being pressured by employees to lower prices even after deals were reached.

After a supply chain controversy and claims about factory workers ‘ pay and working conditions, the business overhauled its moral routines three years prior.

When conducting the first Panorama research, Boohoo stated that it “has not shied away from dealing with the problems of the history and we have invested considerable time, effort, and resource into driving beneficial change across every aspect of our business and supply chain.”
