EL PASO, Texas ( KFOX14/CBS4 )- A neighborhood art gallery and a Juarez-based fashion non-profit are working together to help vulnerable women in Ciudad and elsewhere.
Ni En More, a non-profit organization that supports women in Juarez’s most vulnerable communities as well as migratory women from Guatemala, El Salvador, Ecuador, Venezuela, and another Mexican states, will collaborate with Paradox Immersive Art Gallery to host an exhibition of fashion and arts.
On November 25, Shop Small Saturday may coincide with the event, which will have hand-made clothing designs made with plants and flowers from the Ciudad Juárez neighborhood.
Ni En More claims that the lengthy procedure is intended to represent hope and transform.
In addition to making clothing, Ni En More also runs an internship program in Ciudad Juarez that gives women in the city access to education and employment opportunities with the goal of ending cycles of widespread violence and various forms of oppression.
These programs include free sewing lessons for people in the Ciudad Juarez Sur Oriente community, art therapy and flower-dying workshops for immigrant women staying in shelters there, women’s fashion design and sewing programs, and community college for mature women (elementary, secondary, or high school ).
The celebration will be held on November 25 at the Paradox Immersive Art Gallery, 3915 Rosa Ave., close to Lincoln Park, from 6 p.m. to 10:30 pm.
El Paso-based music social B. E. A. T. Vinyl Club will deliver music in addition to the clothing display by Ni En More, and the neighborhood non-profit Exchange will hold an art auction while elotes and desserts will be for sale from El Tiger Taqueria, with 10 % of their income going to Ni In More.
For$ 15, tickets will be offered both online and in person, and Ni En More will receive 100 % of the sales.
