It did n’t take much persuasion for Anya Hindmarch to join forces with Uniqlo. The English artist, who recently produced a capsule of knitted items for the reasonably priced brand, jumped at the chance to collaborate with them because he already loved their collections.
According to Hindmarch,” My household perhaps has every one of their runners between us all.” In order to determine which one belongs to whom, we really need to sharpen their brands.
Hindmarch was approached by Uniqlo, which is renowned for its excellent high-low partnerships, including with the wants of JW Anderson and Clare Waight Keller, about taking action, and she jumped on board right away.
” I was incredibly excited. Although we were working with Chinese hours and the timing is usually tight with these things, they were genuinely the most pleasant team to work with. I’ve never seen anyone put in as much effort as the Uniqlo team; they were quite a pleasure to work with.
The end result is a collection of runners for both women and children, made of both cashmere and lambs ‘ wool, scarves, caps and socks. The artist has given Uniqlo pieces a little Anya spin with uncovered joints, embroidered details, and those recognizable teary eyes.
We really created knit years ago, and people frequently ask us to bring it back, but because we have such a large selection of items, we wanted to wait for the right option, which is exactly what she says. I definitely wanted to play around with their knit because, as I’ve already mentioned, I am such a big fan of it.
She continues,” I think their designs are definitely perfect- they have completely nailed that, and the fibers are amazing. The fleece truly improves as it is washed more frequently. Therefore, we made the decision to maintain the shapes and then dismantle them, exposing the seams or adding a small amount of detail, about like graffiti on the shoulder. We wanted to keep them the same but essentially muck them up a little.
” We wanted to retain what they excel at and then put a little bit of us to that,” said the strategy.
The collection is the epitome of high-end basics and nods to the growing trend Hindmarch has observed in both herself and her own customers to just purchase flexible and timeless items that will be kept in your closet for a very long time.
” I adore that Uniqlo refers to their clothing as Lifewear because I believe that stance to be very significant.” I’m all about making wise purchases and selecting items that will be worn for a lifetime.
These are regarded as easy-to-style purchases, but Hindmarch also understands that what people are looking for in style, particularly her own, is that struck of dopamine, and that’s exactly what she wants to provide them.
No one needs another piece of clothing to protect their system; we all have everything we need for the rest of our lives, so in my opinion, the total level of style is to modify your feelings. What interests me about fashion is the feeling- and confidence-altering aspects. The purpose of clothing is to make you feel happy or comfortable. And I wanted to bring a small joy with this set, so that’s exactly what I intended to do.
Starting on November 23, the Anya Hindmarch x Uniqlo set will be accessible both online and in businesses.
