Okla.- Burning Wagon Designs, an indigenous-owned and-operated clothing store, held a fashion show in honor of an abducted and murdered aboriginal woman.
On Thursday, FOX23 spoke with Olivia Gray, co-founder of Burning Wagon.
Gray declared,” This is who we are, and we want everyone to see us.”
Recently, Lily Gladstone and Leonardo DiCaprio were seen wearing the cloth design from Burning Wagon Designs, which are located in Green Country.
The business was co-founded by a family from the Osage Nation and her sons.
Gray said,” I needed something to wear to judge because I was working for my tribal government at the time and I support private violence.”
According to Gray, their fashion show on October 5 was in honor of Emily Morgan, who was discovered dead in a vehicle in McAlester on August 26, 2016, along with her friend. She also has a circumstance to answer.
Mary Hammer, the co-founder of Burning Wagon, was even a guest on FOX23.
Before she was killed, Emily Morgan, one of our missing and murdered indigenous family, was a design who enjoyed modeling and was very skilled at it, according to Hammer. We were like,” Just remember that if our model were here, she may be running lines,” before we sent her out there.
Tytiana Coleman, the Comanche Nation Model, was interviewed by FOX23.
She remarked,” I feel incredibly empowered to be able to communicate this with them and feel great in the clothes I wear.
