Zara claims that the party’s main emphasis is on design, but the pictures that were shown caused a lot of backlash.
After the launch of its most recent advertising strategy, titled” The Jacket,” Spanish clothing store Zara finds itself caught up in a crisis. The campaign, which was meant to highlight the usefulness of the gown, has sparked outrage among the general public because of contentious images that bring to mind the Gaza genocide.
Zara claims that the party’s main emphasis is on design, but the pictures that were shown caused a lot of backlash. Social media erupted with condemnation as users expressed their anger and disgust, vowing to boycott the brand. One user’s statement echoed the sentiments of many: “My jaw dropped seeing this. Boycott for life. You are disgusting demons. I can’t believe what I’m looking at.”
Unsettling depictions of Muslim burial robes and an upside-down image of Palestine that starkly resembles the ongoing conflict in Gaza are among the pictures in question. Zara was charged with using dreadful events as a selling tool by critics. Do you believe that 20,000 people die each year, and that it is typical for you to use their fatalities as a marketing tool? Do n’t come out and claim that you meant to be disgusting.
Zara has not yet responded to or made a statement about the discussion despite the outcry from the government. Zara has previously been criticized in relation to the Israel-Palestine fight. After Zara’s company owner in Israel expressed support for the radical Jewish Forces party, Palestinians launched a boycott campaign in October 2022.
