We love to help our neighbors from coast to coast, and we do it with an” U” and all.

When it comes to American companies, we’ve got some great little mom- and- pop shops and some global behemoths, like Canada Goose. Additionally, we recently discovered some fantastic items from businesses we did n’t even know were Canadian.

Smash + Tess

Around: Smash + Tess was founded by the traditional mother- daughter- bestie group. The company uses wood and cotton blends to create green products like rayon. It produces “everywear” items that are great for lounging but also wearable.

Favorite product: Rompers. We love the company’s styles, materials and ecology, but it’s certainly best known for leotards.

Roots

On: Roots was founded by Michael Budman and Don Green, who met at summer station in Algonquin Park, Ont. The company began by making leather items, which are still a part of its image, but the company is presently primarily known for pants and sweatshirts.

Founding site: Toronto, Ont. Leather products are also made in Toronto, Ont.
