There are, and then there are dark floor looks. It’s only the first that move along in music traditions and style history, finding themselves referenced time and time again by later generations – whether that’s as a posh dress/ outfit, inspiration for a designer’s mood- board, or the basis of a celebrity’s glamorous event look.
The really *iconic* time that entered the 2001 National Music Honors in a dismantled cotton dress, along with Justin Timberlake, in matching head-to-toe denim, immediately comes to mind. Not only the embodiment of #couplegoals, it was also a really strong move at the time. Denim? On the red floor? Truly groundbreaking. So much so, in truth, that people from to and has replicated Britney’s look in the decades since.
The latest to do so?, who attended the Fashion Trust U. S. Awards in Beverly Hills next day, in her own contemporary view of Britney’s famous cotton clothing.
The 50-year-old model, who was unbuttoned all the way to the top of the knee all the way up to reveal a really dark denim gown by Sonia Carrasco, looked beautiful and elegant as always.
We have to admit that this red carpet look might just be one of Heidi’s best to date because of her daring fashion choices. Evidence that channeling Britney is still a good idea even more than 20 years later.
