HOLLAND — As a mother, Jennah Almanza knows how quickly children grow out of clothes.
It was December when she had the idea to start a children’s resale shop, specializing in items for infants and mothers-to-be.
Now, her shop will fill the former EcoBuns space in Holland Town Center.
“We would travel all the way to Grand Rapids to get clothes because kids grow super fast and won’t wear most things more than once or twice in the first few months,” Almanza said. “We kept going back and forth … and we began asking why there isn’t something like that in Holland.”
She conducted research to gauge interest, and found other parents were having similar problems. So, she answered the call, filling her store with clothes throughout the summer and gathering feedback from other moms.
Last weekend, she and her husband, Angel, officially opened Mommy ‘N Me Resale at 12330 James St. The store operates as a consignment shop, where customers can drop off clothes to be resold. Once the store decides which items to sell, they’re put in the system, Ricochet, and sellers can track progress from their phones.
Items will remain on the shelves for 90 days. Once sold, there’s a 50/50 split between the store and seller.
The goal is to make shopping more enjoyable for families. Mommy N Me has coloring activities, movies playing, and their own version of Elf on the Shelf.
“With my son, he can only stay focused for a little bit,” Almanza said. “That distraction can definitely help.”
Almanza hopes to continue to increase offerings, including more infant clothing and clothing for older children. Shoppers will also find a selection of toys, strollers and bassinets.

Almanza said the store wouldn’t have been possible without the support of family and friends, and the local community.
